Paris Nadir

Paris Nadir, a Massachusetts native, has owned and operated Nadir Riding Academy for over thirty plus years. Early in his career, Nadir began as a catch rider for many professional barns. Mentored by Ira Schulman, Paris is known as an experienced trainer in the hunter/jumper discipline throughout the Southwest. Located in Gilbert, AZ, his program ranges from training beginners to professional riders. Paris has traveled to Europe and has completed many successful acquisitions for his clients.

Nadir’s philosophy is that a good riding program will teach patience, responsibility, organization, and respect. As a coach, Nadir takes his riders from the short stirrup ring to the grand prix arena with his consistent and proven training program. Several of his students have not only went on to compete in the professional arena, they have also started their own successful riding schools.

Sydney Nadir

Sydney Nadir, an Arizona native, has been riding horses since before she could walk… yes that’s right, walk! She grew up learning to ride under her Dad’s coaching at Nadir Riding Academy. Nadir began showing at the age of five in the hunter ring. She quickly transitioned to the jumper ring and learned to compete on many horses.

After graduating high school, Sydney moved to beautiful Los Angeles, California to pursue a career in acting. While in acting school, she landed major roles in two movies. Ultimately, it was Sydney’s love for riding that pulled her back to Arizona. Since returning, she has taught riding lessons, trained, and competed under her Dad’s coaching at Nadir Riding Academy. She currently trains and rides many horses at Nadir Riding Academy partnered with P2 Sport Horses. Her bravery and willingness to ride all different types of horses from young horses to finished is a tremendous asset to this team.

Ashley Gonwa

Originally from Wisconsin, Ashley has been riding for over 30 years. In elementary school, she began showing competitively at Quarter Horse Shows throughout the Midwest showing in Equitation, English Pleasure, and Showmanship. She also competed at the national level at Quarter Horse Congress in Columbus, Ohio. Ashley attended college at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and majored in Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish. She completed her masters of education in 2014. During college, Gonwa competed on the equestrian team through the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association. It was at this time, Ashley discovered her love for jumping. Ashley began her teaching career in Minnesota and moved to Arizona in 2014. Shortly after moving to Arizona, she started lessoning with Paris at Nadir Riding Academy and has been there ever since. She has competitively shown many horses in the jumper ring under Paris’ coaching.

Outside of the jumper ring, Ashley is a Teacher Executive Designer. She combines her love for teaching and horses in her current part-time role as an assistant trainer and riding instructor at Nadir Riding Academy partnered with P2 Sport Horses. Ashely’s attention to detail and hard work ethic are is greatly treasured. P2SH is thrilled to have this lady on its team!

Elizabeth Paddy

Meet is Elizabeth Paddy. She grew up in Arizona and was always drawn towards animals and the outdoors. At five years old, she started riding western, and a few years later, started learning the art of show jumping from Paris Nadir. Although her parents divorce and varsity sports took her away from pursuing riding in her youth, Elizabeth decided to go all in and buy her first horse, a young thoroughbred, during college. It was then that Elizabeth reconnected with Paris Nadir and expanded her knowledge of riding and training horses.

Elizabeth’s college experience was uprooted due to COVID and a broken leg, but she was still able to graduate Cum Laude at the age of 20 from Arizona State with a Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain Management. Currently, Elizabeth is working part-time at an international solar company and at Nadir Riding Academy- who is proudly partnered with P2 Sport Horses. Her innovative mind and consistency makes her an invaluable member of this team and to the horse training process. We are so fortunate to have Elizabeth apart of our team!

Alex Beckett

Alex has had a love for horses since she was a little girl. As a young child, she rode dressage. Alex took a break from riding to purse swimming and went on to swim competitively as a Division One athlete at Ohio State University. Alex earned a scholarship to compete in synchronized swimming. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business management.

After college, Alex started to volunteer at an equestrian therapy barn which inspired her to start riding again. A year into her lessons, Alex knew she found her new sport and passion. She bought her first horse and began taking lessons at Nadir Riding Academy under the coaching of Paris Nadir. She recently sold that horse and purchased P2’s Laredo. Alex currently works both in the service industry and under Paris at Nadir Riding Academy partnered with P2 Sport Horse Team.

Alex brings to the barn a drive and willingness to learn; she is not afraid to try new training methods. We are so glad Laredo found his match in Alex. Together they shine, bringing out the best in each other. Next, Alex plans to pursue her goal of becoming an entrepreneur and trainer in the horse industry; it’s never too late to go after your dreams.
